The OR Tambo District Detectives conducted several operations from the early hours of 19 March 2020, in an effort of raiding and arresting wanted suspects. Twenty-one men with their ages between 20 and 71 years and two women between 18 and 39 were arrested for crimes ranging from common assault to murder.
In Port St Johns, Vispol conducted operations and have arrested four men for possession and dealing in drugs. They arrested a 20-year-old man after he was found in possession of 10 × Tik sachets, 24-year-old man for possession of 00,1 grams of dagga and a 28-year-old man for possession of 00,5 grams dagga and a 27-year-old man for possession of 00,3 grams of dagga.
Six Okapi knives, four pairs of scissors and one screwdriver were confiscated during body searches.
Lastly, a 52-year-old woman was arrested by Mthatha K9 during an intelligence driven operation at Waterfall Park in Mthatha at about 14:00, after she was found in possession of 22 straws containing Tik, 18 small packets of Tik, 6 Boss Mandrax, 7 Boss Mandrax halves, 44 dagga bompies,a plastic bag containing dagga weighing 730 grams, 14 molded smoking pipes and an amount of R77.00 in cash.
All the suspects will appear before their respective courts.
The District Commissioner Major General David Kanuka lauded all the operatives.
