Durban man gunned down in drive-by shooting

KwaZulu-Natal police are probing the early morning murder of a man in what appears to have been a drive-by shooting in Quarry Heights on Wednesday.

A police source with knowledge of the investigation, who could not be named as he is not authorised to speak to the media, said the man’s body was found at the roadside of Queen Nandi Drive.

The man had sustained a single gunshot wound with a .40 calibre bullet and had been clad only in his boxer shorts and a shirt.

A set of house keys had been found next to his body.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that an investigation into the shooting had begun.

“A 35-year-old man was shot and killed by unknown suspects who were in a VW Polo. The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage,” he said.

“A case murder has been opened at Greenwood Park for investigation and no arrests have been made.”
