WITHIN the impoverished community of Mountain View informal settlement, dogs are the helpless victims of horrific acts of cruelty including gang rape.
“Many of them suffer unspeakable acts of abuse,” says Jaque le Roux (20), a trained animal welfare assistant. He has gathered a small team of volunteers to help the animals inside this small community on the outskirts of Ocean View.
He says dog rape is extremely common in poor communities due to lack of education and drug abuse.
