A senior employee of Eskom has found out what happens if you hack someone else’s e-mails.
The employee, Genevieve Roux, received a fine of R40 000 because she had hacked her former lover’s email and thus gained access to it. Her new boyfriend helped her with it. Roux and Sean Millard admitted that they had illegally accessed Johannes Burger’s e-mail account.
For his part in the case, Millard received a fine of R10 000.
Apart from being convicted under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, they will also soon hear what their fate will be with Eskom if the findings of a disciplinary hearing are to be announced.
