In court documents by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), claims that contract money at inflated prices that was awarded by the police to ‘Brainwave Projects’ was then allegedly cancelled and the money used to buy votes at the ANC’s national conference during which Cyril Ramaphosa defeated Dlamini Zuma by only 200 votes.
R54 million is apparently involved in the “money laundering” which, according to observers, is indicative of the serious divisions in the ranks of the ANC and its so called allies.
The meeting in Durban during which Ramaphosa and Zuma appeared together on stage, was an embarrassment to the ANC president, and he had to say to the crowds about the good relationship that existed with Zuma.
