Durban – The badly decomposed body of an unidentified man was found hanging from a tree in Shallcross, in Durban. The body was found by two workers who were clearing bush near Link Road on Tuesday.
Thembi Mhlongo, 26, who lives in a house near the road, said the homeowner had hired two people to clear the vegetation allegedly used by thieves as a hideout.
“We had been getting stories of people being mugged and raped… A woman’s handbag was snatched by unknown people who ran into the bush,” she said.
Mhlongo said the body was badly decomposed.
