Criminal charge laid against Mamphela Ramphele

Johannesburg – A criminal charge has been laid against AgangSA leader Mamphela Ramphele, the New Age reported on Thursday.

The newspaper says that the party’s chairperson Mike Tshishonga laid the charge. Tshishonga alleges that Ramphele fraudulently has direct access to party funds.

Party insiders told the New Age that Ramphele opened a bank account to directly access IEC deposits without a mandate from the party.

“She must step down until all these issues are sorted out,” Agang SA spokesperson Donald Tontsi told eNCA.

In May, the Saturday Star reported that Agang’s former spokesperson Thabo Leshilo was taking the party to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration after it apparently failed to pay him his December Salary…
