An officer of Crime Intelligence has been arrested for complaints of fraud.

The captain is involved in the theft of state assets, and so far, he is connected to the R200 million theft at Johannesburg’s airport in March 2017.

What makes matters more interesting is that there are links between the suspect and the former National Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane.

Further revelations show that the officer only served two years in prison for his ten-year sentence for a robbery with aggravating circumstances. After his dismissal, SAPS employed him again, and serious questions now arise how a convicted criminal could be quickly assigned to the police, and with an officer’s rank.

Nearly R450 000 was “stolen” on a tender for blinds, the blinds only cost R78 000, but more than R560 000 were paid out.
