Couple both shot in the head during a farm attack

Paul Pietersburg, South Africa – Lens couple Shot on their Farm in Paul Pietersburg District in KwaZulu-Natal.

Nico and Marsha Lens, both in their fifties, were attacked on September 3, 2014 at about 17:00 on their cattle farm Elandsberg – both shot in the head.

An alarm system is connected to their radios. When the alarm goes off, the neighbours know from who it came. Marsha pushed the alarm but when their neighbours arrived on the scene, it was too late.

Nico and Marsha were both shot in the head.

Eugene van Aswegen, the local chairman of Afriforum said they have aeroplanes, but it was already too dark to follow the suspects.

The police, 30 km away, arrived an hour and a half after they were notified, full of excuses for being late.

The police dog unit arrived 3 hours after they’ve been notified and they could not search the area, because they said it was already dark. Van Aswegen said the community is shocked by the murders.

The Lens couple has a daughter, living in Paul Pietersburg.
