Deputy Finance Minister Mondli Gungubele, who has been accused of being involved in the corruption scandal, made voters in the country frown, and politicians overseas very worried.
As a result, after the allegations were made before the investigation commission, he submitted his resignation with the board members of the so called Public Investment Corporation (PIC). The relevant PIC councilors submitted their written resignations to the Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni.
The letter to Minister Mboweni was signed by all nine directors asking them to be released from their duties in PIC.
Only the acting Chief Executive Officer, Matshepo Tomorrow’s signature does not appear on the letter.
