The German software giant, SAP, is currently being investigated by the anti corruption unit regarding the award of a contract by the Department of Water and Sanitation.

The correct procedure was not followed in the $60 million contract relating to the provision of IT and support services to the department.

The department is already “technically bankrupt” and is also being held responsible for the water crisis in the Western Cape.

Observers predict that Cyril Ramaphosa’s announced cleaning process will last for months, if not years.
