Corona virus is an unprecedented crisis - What you have to do

CORONA VIRUS – IT COULD BECOME AS VIRAL AS COMMON FLU. WE ARE LOOKING AT AN UNPRECEDENTED WORLDWIDE CRISIS. THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO:

There have been too much incorrect and even fake conversations on the topic of the Corona virus up until now. It is time to once and for all get the facts and most of all its time for people worldwide to make a quantum shift in their thought process about this virus. Bluntly put, most of us will get this virus in the next year or 2. This is the logical conclusion if a vaccine is not found and we don’t get inoculated.

As you know the common flu has been with us since we can remember and yes some people are dying from it, especially the elderly and those with weak immune systems. Most people who get the COVID 19 virus will survive but the mortality rate will be higher than people with flu.

It is estimated that between 2 – 4 % of people getting the COVID 19 virus will die, once again mostly old people, those with bad immune systems and those with respiratory problems who might develop lung infection. So people will die. But not all will die of course.

The virus will be rough for some 6 -7 % of patients. It will be like a bad flu to them and might lead to lung infection and hospitalization. But they will recover.

For the rest of the COVID 19 patients, it will be nothing more than a cough and fever. They will be able to recuperate on their own at home with some bed rest only.

To sum up, the vulnerable people as far as COVID 19 are concerned are old people, those with bad immune systems and the poor. The poor could be hard hit because they normally don’t eat healthy enough and don’t get enough vitamins to build up a strong immune system. This is the problem as far as our health is concerned.

The other effect this virus will have is on the worldwide economy. This is where it gets serious.
Worldwide, countries are placing themselves under lock down. Flights are cancelled and people are canceling vacations. This is leading to an economic downturn and the worldwide fall in stock markets, including our own. That affects our pensions and investments because our pension funds do invest in stock markets. Countries that depend on foreign tourism like South Africa will lose income.

This is what this virus will do to us. But there is a lot we can do that will slow the spread of this virus and if we follow some simple steps we can make sure we don’t pick up this virus.

The Corona virus spreads through people’s saliva, cough droplets and it gets distributed when people sneeze.
The virus can land on any surface or object and from there it can be picked up by people’s hands when they touch it. The virus can survive on any surface for a few days. If people then touch their mouths, eyes or nose after getting the Corona virus on their hands , the virus will invade that person’s body.

Of course the Corona virus can also spread when one person kisses another person. So you can see a whole community, then a whole country can be infected very quickly.

Here are the things you can do to protect yourself and your family:

1- Teach yourself not to touch your face with your hands at any time or point.

2- Rather don’t shake hands at this point or kiss people who might have been exposed to the virus.

3- Wash your hands regularly, especially after you were out in public. If you are in public, you will touch a lot of surfaces and you can then carry the virus from there all over, including to your family. Hand washing will remove the virus from your hands and flush it down the drain. If you don’t have water, use a strong hand sanitizer.

4 – If you suspect you have the COVID 19 virus, don’t go to your GP. You will have to sit in a waiting room where you might cough or sneeze and spread the virus that way. You might also leave the virus there on surfaces, where other people might touch after you and pick up the virus and spread it further. Rather find out where is a COVID 19 test center and go there to be tested.

5- Try and protect all around you when you suspect you might have the virus. Self quarantine. This is an extra-ordinary virus and it demands that we make a quantum jump in our thought processes. If you think you have COVID 19, carry a mask when you do go out. It will prevent the spread of the virus when you cough or sneeze.

6- Immediately start building up your immune system. Eat healthy, sleep enough and take vitamins. Also very important is getting the flu injection because it will prevent you from getting the flu and COVID 19 together. If you get it together, you will be in a high risk category.

7- Avoid public spaces and rooms with a lot of people if at all possible because chances are bigger here that you will be infected.

8- Keep in mind that it will be impossible to stop the spread of this virus if a vaccine is not found, so chances are we all might get it in the next 2 years. Remember that your own health is only guaranteed if everyone works together.

Brought to you in the interest of our common health so please share. Let’s get a common effort going TODAY.
