More than 25% of Eskom’s power stations only have coal for ten days.
The “big” plan to transport coal by road from Medupi in Ellisras to the Eastern Transvaal power stations apparently did not get off the ground.
With the coming rainy season it will be even harder to transport coal, while wet coal is often given as a reason for load shedding.
Ten power stations have only 20 days of coal stock while five power stations have less than 10 days of stock. Consumers need to get ready for renewed load shedding.
