The murder of a well-known resident of a Rietfontein smallholding near Hartbeespoort dam sent shock waves through the community. The murder took place on Christmas Eve.
The attack occurred on December 24, 2014 at about 6:00.
It appears that the victim was in the process of feeding the dogs when he was attacked.
The safe was broken into and several handguns were stolen.
The police dog unit was called in and follow the trail of the suspects up to a nearby dirt road where a getaway vehicle apparently waited for the attackers.
Police are investigating several leads.
