An elderly couple was attacked in their home in Sophiatown, Johannesburg on Wednesday, SAPS said on its Twitter feed.
One of them appeared to have been killed as police said they were investigating cases of murder, attempted murder and robbery. Two suspects attacked the couple.
According to the @crimeairnetwork on Twitter, the woman was strangled and the man stabbed and killed in Annadale Street.
Police spokespersons could not be reached for comment.
