There are calls for the Railway Police to be brought back.

The old SA Railroad Police was dissolved in 1986, and its members were admitted to the SA Police, who would then provide security for stations and trains. It did not happen.

Although the Railway Police was a minor power, they were very disciplined and were generally respected and enforced respect.
