At least 27 officers of the SA Crime Intelligence Division have criminal records.
This was confirmed by police minister Bheki Cele in response to questions in parliament. Twenty are road traffic offenders while seven are for serious offenses that have been committed.
According to crime experts, it emphasizes the national issue of security sector members who have criminal records.
Cele could not confirm in which provinces the members were and what the offenses were. Another issue of “I do not know or I don’t understand.
