The public is warned that when making purchases through their cell phones, tablets, laptops and computers, they run the risk of online “attacks.”

The IT group Dimension Data issued the warning.

False websites that issue gift cards and special holiday offers can attract a person to devious sites that can compromise a person’s device.

The public is warned against giving any information regarding credit card details and personal identification numbers to anyone.
