Armed robbers targeted a petrol station on the N2 highway in Macassar early on Monday morning, Western Cape police confirmed.
They entered the building around 01:30 and overpowered staff, said police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk.
Using explosives, the gang gained access to an undisclosed amount of cash in a drop safe. They then fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla.
Van Wyk said no one was injured.
No arrests had yet been made.
