When I look at the ‘stupid black men’ out there, they are not getting very far in life by constantly reverting to the race card to ‘make their statement’. And use it to try to help them advance in an already-competitive world. Or use it as an excuse why they are not advancing. Of course, our government policies and the race card appear to be synonymous with each other, which is not helping either.
My brothers, get over your sense of entitlement, it is not helping you, and it is handicapping our next generation of South African youth to the point where they are not willing to put the time and energy to develop skills-of-the-trade, at a time when it is sorely needed.
Earn your living the way millions across the world do it – through persistence, hard work, elbow grease, and dedication to being the best at your trade.
If you are given a free ride, it is unlikely you will have the strong foundation you need to succeed.
As an example, I tell those who are skeptical that learning skills as an experienced machinist take 15 to 20 years, with at least ten years of that under an apprentice, the job security, pay, and benefits are excellent.
Pick your degree, pick your trade, put your nose to the grindstone – don’t use the race-card, it makes you look stupid.
Yes there are hardships
Yes the world is competitive
Yes the world is sometimes unfair
Yes our destiny is completely up to us
Yes some people have it easier than others
That’s the way the world is – get over it!
But to stack the odds in your favor, you need to elect competent leaders who will incentivize business, and fix our economy to make this all possible!
The failed programs, rampant mismanagement and corruption of the ANC are turning us into ‘stupid black men’.
