The ANC leaders have approached First National Bank and Absa with the request to keep the Bosasa accounts open. The ANC says it will cause thousands of workers not to lose their jobs and it will keep Bosasa doors open.
Dakota Legoete, the ANC spokesperson released the information and said it would hit thousands of households if bank accounts were closed and the company would have to close its doors.
Earlier this week, the two banks announced that bank accounts would be closed due to the corruption committed and therefore posing a major risk to the banks.
About 4,500 workers and a multitude of contractors will be directly affected if the accounts are closed, and prisons will soon have to acquire new suppliers for food delivery.
