Members of the ANC’s national executive committee are planning to use their special meeting to vote on dismissing Pravin Gordhan as finance minister.
This follows the chorus demanding that Gordhan should be fired. They include the ANC Youth league, the ANC Womens league and the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans. They claim Gordhan’s head because he would prevent the “radical economic transformation” process.
There is already speculation that Brian Molefe, the controversial former Eskom Chief’s inauguration as an MP is the beginning of replacing Gordhan.
