Residents in estates and complexes often have a false sense of security if the perimeter is fitted with an electric fence. No electric fence is criminal proof.

We have said it over and over again that criminals breach them within minutes. The electric fence acts as a first line of defense but what do you do if the criminals breach the fence without your knowledge?

They use cardboard, twigs or rubber floor mats to isolate the strands and simply climb through.

If you live in an estate or complex, install beams and an alarm system to protect your family and house. Outdoor beams on your own perimeter are excellent and act as an early warning system, keep suspects away from your house and know they are there before they can get to you!

A siren on the beams are also an added advantage as most suspects run for their lives if the siren all of a sudden snaps into siren mode. They don’t even try to gain further entry.

Houses in new complexes also have little or no burglar proof on the windows. Please install more security measures and do not rely on the electric fence only.

Yes, aesthetically they are not always what we want but rather what we need to be safe from harm.
