Afrikaners still have the purchasing power that is essential for businesses to continue, even though they are seeking political correctness for the lesser purchasing power of other groups.

It is evident from the rebellion that currently exists within the Spur restaurant group.

About half of Spur’s franchises decided not to go along with Spur head office’s decisions and actions after the controversial assault at Texamo Spur in Johannesburg when a white man was ordered to leave after he wanted to protect his child from the attack of a considerably older black bully.

The franchisees recognize that particularly in the Afrikaner rural areas, it is a pitfall for them after their headquarters insensitive handling of the matter and the blatant racist act against the white man. This proves the Afrikaner’s purchasing power on the one hand, but also that the Afrikaner community can vote silently with its feet over the Spur’s boycott. The franchisees want to hold a supposedly “listening tour.”

Meanwhile, the Spur boss who made the wrong decisions, Pierre van Tonder apologize to Spur owners who are under pressure and did nothing wrong. The group has also apologized to any person or community who was offended their actions.

Observers do not believe that the apologies will immediately get the Afrikaner back.
