Advocate Budlender step on toes – state capture

Die Vryburger

In the alleged report on state capture, Adv. Geoff Budlender apparently trampled to such an extent on many toes, that enraged rioters ambushed him at his home because his report revealed cadres names.

The report confirms that Trillion Capital Partners, with Salim Essa as majority shareholder, has close ties with the Guptas and, therefore, with Zuma.

As a result of the findings, Tokyo Sexwale, as non-executive independent president of TCP, resigned after a long-standing concern over the company’s commitment to the Guptas. He asked that the report should form part of a possible judicial investigation.

Minister Lynn Browne’s version that no fees were paid to Duva power stations was reportedly false or seriously misleading. No contracts existed between TCP and Eskom, but more than R250 million was paid to Trillian Mangement Company, which was 100% in charge of TCP.

This means that the public’s hard-earned money entered through dubious ways into the pockets of friends of corrupt or incompetent politicians.
