The SAPS and FARM WATCH successfully work together to ensure rural safety. But, since the period of lockdown, farm watches are prohibited to patrol. There is a marked and concerning increase in the theft of agricultural products and livestock since these patrols were stopped.
It is a threat to food security in South Africa and could eventually lead to anarchy.
The petition will be sent to the minister of police, Bheki Cele and the President, Cyril Ramaphosa by TLU SA.
