Stephen McGown, kidnapped by Al Qaeda terrorists in Mali in 2011, was reunited with his family in South Africa.
McGowan was released on July 29, 2017, but few details are known about the release.
The organization Gift of the Givers said he was not involved in the negotiations on his release. It is also not known whether any ransom for his release has been paid.
