A 70 year old farmer of Mooketsi, near Tzaneen, Limpopo was hit with a panga when a robbery took place on Monday November 3, 2014. The man was taken to a Tzaneen hospital with serious head injuries.
The man was woken when he heard footsteps in their home and went to investigate. He was hit over the head with a panga.
His wife got hold of their firearm and shot at the suspects. They fled the scene.
LtCol Moeatshe Ngoepe of the Police said nothing seems to be stolen.
A police task team has been assembled who are looking for the suspects.
