VisitKyiv.com is a new independent website that provides practical information for foreigners visiting the capital of Ukraine during the war. The platform offers itineraries, security updates, and recommendations for accommodation, dining, and entertainment in the city.

Who is it for?

The project is aimed at journalists, volunteers, business travelers, and tourists who need reliable information about Kyiv. It helps visitors plan their stay, understand local context, and take advantage of services that remain available despite wartime restrictions.

Why is it important?

Despite the difficult security situation, Kyiv continues to live — public transport, restaurants, cultural institutions, and hotels are operating according to adjusted schedules and safety rules. Foreign visitors continue to arrive for work, volunteer activities, scientific research, and as tourists.

“We don’t persuade people to come to Kyiv, and we don’t sugarcoat reality. But if foreign guests are already planning to visit the capital or are considering such a possibility, our task is to provide information on how to stay safe, where to stay, and what to do in the city. We want foreigners to feel like welcome guests while respecting the experience of Ukrainians,” says project founder Dmytro Bondar.

VisitKyiv.com was launched on May 25, 2025, and will be updated regularly. As for now, it has a lot of useful tips:

  • Walking routes for 1–2 days
  • Places to eat
  • Museums, parks, excursions
  • Accommodation options — from hostels to hotels
  • Information about shelters, air raid sirens, curfews, etc.

The website does not contain advertisements and is not funded by the state, donors, or commercial partners. All information is verified by the project team.

The authors of the project encourage local businesses and Kyiv residents to share places worth adding, writing to the email address listed on the website.
