Themba Lukhele also famously known as SkeemGP, author of a book titled: “Through it all” recently launched a podcast on YouTube “Against The Wall” which has been buzzing on Twitter and YouTube, the very first of its kind to give platform to voiceless formerly incarcerated people who’ve been in prisons to talk about their experiences, tell their stories and also create awareness to gang members outside of prisons who have no clue what being in prison is like.

SkeemGP describes this podcast an an eye-opener for South Africans and he hopes to give the public and criminals who’ve never been inside a prison wall unprecedented insight into what really goes on behind.

The podcast will interview former inmates who have gone through gruesome prison sentences from petty crimes, first-degree crimes to losing everything in a blink of an eye. Life inside prison not only affected them as perpetrators but it also affects the people close to them, their families, friends and victims. It is made of different people from all walks of life who tell it as it happened on the podcast.

SkeemGP conceptualized this podcast from personal encounters as a former inmate, he feels writing a book was not enough, he wanted to connect with incarcerated people inside prisons or going on parole or criminals who’ve never set foot inside a prison wall and help them understand the gravity and spiritual effect it has a person’s soul to go through imprisonment.

Through this podcast, SkeemGP wants to help former inmates and people who’ve lost purpose in life and think crime is the only solution an opportunity to realize their self worth and overcome great odds to make a success of life.

“When you are confronted with time to pay for your mistakes don’t despair but be optimistic and rise above your fears. Skeem GP once lost his path found himself and found solutions which helped to unfold the social ills which are epidemic,” he said.

“Skeem GP Podcast distinguishes itself from the rest by offering valuable insights; insights like tips, advice, information, tutorials, educational, and relevant audience. It also provides appropriate original ideas that listeners can use in their day-to-day lives,” he said.

Themba is also the founder of Skeem GP Foundation where he goes around schools and institutions of higher learning to give a lecture and motivational talk about the importance of creating opportunities for yourself, lifeskills, mentorship programs for boys not to join gangs or go astray but rather to focus on school and getting a proper education.

SkeemGP is shooting episodes every week for the podcast. People can look forward to seeing familiar faces and even cases they’ve followed in the past and never got followup on what happened to those individuals since they were imprisoned.

Against the wall podcast promises to bring in fresh and relevant content that will keep viewers informed and educated.
