KwaZulu-Natal’s second Checkers Hyper FreshX store opened its doors at the newly revamped Ridge Mall in Shallcross. This follows the opening of the first one at Brookside Mall at the end of September 2022.
A total of 32 new jobs have been created, bringing the store’s staff complement to 155 employees. The store will be managed by Ahmed Badat who joined the retailer in 2012 as an Assistant Manager.
This Checkers Hyper FreshX store promises a premium shopping experience with top brands available at supermarket prices. Customers can look forward to several in-store departments including a bakery, a Meat Market, a TechX, a Party Shop, an in-store Little Me with a selection of baby essentials, a Foreign Ground Coffee bar, a Medirite pharmacy, a Money Market counter and so much more.
To celebrate the opening, customers who swipe their Xtra Savings rewards card and purchase any two participating products will automatically be entered into the store’s Win A Car competition for a chance to win a Hyundai i20. (The participating products include 440ml Reboost Energy Drink, 440ml Rockstar Energy Drink, 2l Pepsi, 2l Pepsi Max and 2l Coo-ee. Entries close Sunday 4 December 2022.)
The store’s trading hours are 08h00 to 20h00 from Mondays to Sundays.
