The new Checkers Blue Crane recently opened its doors to customers at the De Marionette Shopping Centre in Alberton, Johannesburg. This is the fourth Checkers store in Alberton.
It has a total staff complement of 74, which includes 55 women. More than half of the management positions are also held by females.
Customers can look forward to a unique shopping experience at Checkers Blue Crane, including a Meat Market with free range chicken and restaurant-quality steak; a bakery with artisan breads and cakes; fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers; a sushi bar; a Foreign Ground coffee bar; exclusive private label brands such as Forage & Feast and Simple Truth as well as a Money Market counter.
The store is managed by Alberton resident Liam Lorning, who joined Checkers in 2012 as a Trainee Manager.
A standalone Petshop Science store catering for pet owners also opened at the same centre.
Checkers Blue Crane’s trading hours are Mondays to Sundays from 08:00 – 20:00.
