To alleviate the financial burden on animal welfares, Bravecto® launched the national #BravectoCares campaign which has already sponsored just under 30 000 Spot-On treatments countrywide. In the spirit of continued generosity, the #BravectoCares campaign continues to sponsor treatment, which improves quality of life, to cat-focused animal welfares.

Cat Family Foundation AKA CatFam (www.catfamilyfoundation.co.za) in Randburg, Gauteng was announced as the latest winner of 1 200 doses. CatFam is a non-profit that has trapped, sterilised and returned 450 feral cats since July 2020. Alise Antrobus, co-founder of the NPO, said: “We believe that a feral cat has as much right to good health as a domestic cat, and so we not only sterilise them, but we also give them a vaccine and tick and flea treatment to ensure they have the best shot at leading healthy lives.

With this generous sponsorship of Bravecto® Spot-On tick and flea treatment, we will be able to save money and trap more feral cats as well as continue our ongoing effort to ensure they get the best care possible before returning them to their colonies. Thank you Bravecto® and thank you for recognising what NPOs are doing for abandoned cats.” Caring is sharing which is why CatFam has announced it will be sharing its prize with Cat Village (East Rand, Gauteng) and Feeding the Furballs (Durban, KZN); with Bravecto® sponsoring a bonus 400 doses to Feeding the Furballs, and another 400 doses to CO-SANC (Randburg, Gauteng).

Also forming part of the first round of sponsorships was Harties Feral Cat Rescue in Hartbeespoort, North West Province. Communities nominated and voted for cat welfare organisations through the ‘Bravecto South Africa’ Facebook page using the #BravectoCares hashtag. The finalists were announced on Facebook, and supporters then voted for the winner through comments on the post.
