It’s been a year of giving for Bravecto® which has already sponsored 27 000 Spot-On treatments to animal welfares across the country through its national #BravectoCares campaign. But the generosity doesn’t stop there as MSD Animal Health has committed to donating thousands of doses of Bravecto® Spot-On for Cats to cat-focused welfares nationwide.

The first lucky recipient of 1 200 units of Bravecto®is Harties Feral Cat Rescue (www.hartiesferalcats.co.za) in Hartbeespoort, North West Province. The organisation is 100% volunteer-based with the aim to trap, neuter and return feral cats. They currently care for more than 800 cats across 37 colonies, neutering more than 1 300 cats. NPO founder, Joanne Kontaxopoulos-Rabe, said: “Ticks, fleas and mites are a huge problem for any cat, but especially a free-roaming cat. To have such a wonderful sponsorship from Bravecto® is going to bring huge relief to these vulnerable animals during the harsh summer months – a luxury not usually afforded to them.

We salute Bravecto® for taking this bold step and showing #ferallove! We are incredibly humbled that you have chosen to give back to animals forced to live in the ruff, through no fault of their own.” The next beneficiary in the first set of sponsorships is Cat Family Foundation (Randburg, Gauteng) with bonus sponsorships given to Feeding the Furballs (Durban, KZN) and CO-SANC (Randburg, Gauteng).

Communities nominated and voted for cat welfare organisations through the ‘Bravecto South Africa’ Facebook page using the #BravectoCares hashtag. The finalists were announced on Facebook, and supporters then voted for the winner through comments on the post.
