Hinds Spices, South Africa’s much loved spice brand, shifted gears with Shoprite in the Western Cape, and Free State as two lucky Hinds Spices customers drove away in new Toyota Agya cars valued at over R180 000 each.

Turning it up a notch, the brand kicked-off the competition this year in June, where two happy customers drove off with big smiles, after buying a Hinds Spice and Southern Grill packs and swiping their Shoprite Xtra Savings cards to stand a chance to win.

The brand hosted two spicy events in the Western Cape at the Shoprite Parow and Free State Shoprite Twin City Mall and the winners Ashley Pedro (Western Cape winner) and Patricia Nzimande (Free State winner) became proud owners of a new Toyota Agya.

Maria Soares, head of marketing at RFG Foods, says that the brand was very excited to launch a campaign through a mealtime moment that’s beyond just sharing great tasting food but that would offer cash-strapped customers the opportunity to get something more. “We understand that shoppers in South Africa today have limited time and money and we continuously aim to make family meals taste better while remaining affordable,” she says.

“As a brand we always aim to give our valuable consumers something extra to be excited about, while adding flavour to their lives, therefore this campaign was perfectly aligned to us giving our consumers and the community where they live more,” says Shevani Singh, Hinds Spices Brand Manager. “Whether you are braaiing with friends, sharing meals with your family at home or throwing together a quick breakfast before work, Hinds Spices is rooted in strength to bring your favourite food to life.”

Ashley Pedro, who drove off in his new Toyota Agya was incredibly happy with his win. “I am very happy I entered and excited to get my car, this will help my family a lot – I never win anything, and this just shows that God will show up when we least expect it.”

“We are delighted to be able to bring such joy and excitement to our consumers’ lives and seeing these winners drive off to start the next chapter in their lives, with this modern car, is such a treat too,” concludes Singh.

Since 1959 Hinds Spices has been bringing bigger, bolder, and better tastes to South African meals and continues to deliver trusted quality and authentic Mzansi flavours.
