Robyn Kramer

It’s time to celebrate a great South African first!

Robyn Kramer of Johannesburg recently participated in Italy’s best known international showcase for organic and natural products, the 34th SANA International Exhibition for Organic and Natural Products in Bologna.

It was at this point that emerging universal trends aligned with the core values that Robyn has always held as an innovative Health and Beauty business owner. Voila… after seven years, Robyn was in the right place at the right time. The forty global buyers in the Care and Beauty category voted and, from an array of hundreds of products, selected MyAbby™ Abyssinian Face Oil Rose as Product of the Year in the Care and Beauty sector, a South African first at SANA.

The MyAbby™ range had humble beginnings in Robyn’s kitchen where she developed and mixed product formulas manually. MyAbby™ has evolved from being the pioneer to becoming the front runner in the Abyssinian oil category.

Robyn has always been totally passionate about and committed to producing 100% all natural (in excess of the 75% European requirement) skin, body and haircare products that are natural, gentle and authentic.

Robyn says “Abyssinian oil is the next trend in skincare oils because in studies it substantially outperformed other oils. I believe that the world is searching for a natural, non-greasy oil that actively works with their own skin and Abyssinian oil is just that.”

Robyn is often asked what makes Abyssinian oil, the active ingredient throughout the MyAbby™ range, so special. She explains that it’s sourced from the Crambe Abyssinica plant (native to the African highlands) which is renowned for high amounts of naturally-occurring essential fatty acids. It’s THE natural oil with the highest concentrations of omega oils. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and provides skin with phytosterols and naturally occurring tocopherols.

She says that, in essence, her clients get the benefits of ultra-light, non-greasy products that naturally nurture their skin and do it no harm.

My Abby Face Oil™️ has undergone stringent Patch Test Protocol dermatological testing at an internationally-recognised South African university who concluded that it’s safe to use on sensitive skin. Clients can thus rest assured that the product specs mirror MyAbby’s marketing claims.

When Robyn says the MyAbby™ range is natural she means just that – it has Ecocert® approved ingredients, all products are of vegetable origin (Vegan), all products are GMO/silicone/artificial colourant-free, products contain natural vitamin E and are cold pressed without solvents. No animal testing whatsoever is done on the range and all essential oil fragrances in the range are also all natural.

It’s during this exhilarating time that Robyn, due to the rapid expansion of MyAbby™, has welcomed a business partner. She’s extremely proud to introduce Nieshell Watson. Nieshell hails from a small town called Winterton and from a family of entrepreneur farmers. She spent 17 years as a corporate executive servicing blue chip South African brands. During this time, she was actively involved in mentoring and establishing funding mechanisms for small businesses, particularly Black women-owned ones.

Her entrepreneurial spirit resulted in Nieshell becoming a partner in a back-up energy supply company servicing the corporate sector which then expanding into the retail sector. To back up her broad-based business expertise she obtained her MBA in 2020 from the prestigious Henley Business School, U.K., which is voted the top MBA Business School by Corporate S.A.

Nieshell has reinvented herself at the age of 38 and embarked on exploring her passion for skin and haircare. She says “MyAbby™ is in line with my desire to provide affordable products that are natural and rich for all ages groups and all types of people.” Her Super Powers include general management, supply chain and distribution and value chain management.
