Cape Town, 29 November 2022: Ultra-Trail Cape Town (UTCT), Africa’s most prestigious trail event hosted over 2000 local and international runners participating in five events of various trail races that traverse the beautiful mountain trails of the Cape Peninsula and iconic Table Mountain. The event took place from 25-27 November in Cape Town and offered a distance to suit every trail runner including the 100miler, 100km, 55km, 35km and 23km trail events.
Of the 13 elite trail athletes from the adidas Terrex One Team who took part in UTCT, there were 10 podium positions including five wins.
A number of the Terrex One Team arrived in Cape Town several weeks ago to prepare for UTCT, and made the most of the beautiful terrain by taking part in events such as the Cape Town Marathon trail events, the inaugural Vertical Kilometre and completing the 13 Peaks Challenge as a team in a ‘sunrise to sunset’ relay format.
It was the first time the group of elite runners had visited South Africa as a community; and in another first for the brand, adidas featured a sustainably-made Expo stand made largely from Xanita board, made from fibres recovered from recycled cardboard boxes.

And you can see this in the way they interact with their team mates and fellow trail racers.
