One of Cape Town’s premier event and artist management companies, LRI Productions, is set to host a musical experience with some of The Mother City’s most popular DJs taking to the decks later this month.
The much-anticipated event, will showcase top South African musicians such as DJ KingPhunk, DJ Sophia, DJ Waggy, DJ Portia, DJ AK, DJ Fizz and Shai A as they spin the decks on Saturday 26 March 2022 at Infinity Studios in Paarden Island.
Established in 2016, DJ’s Fizz and Shai-A, are regarded as two of the Top 10 female DJs in SA, with a variety of styles of music, house, R&B and commercial. The duo, who have performed at various clubs, festivals, and radio are excited to be a part of the FOR THE PEOPLE event.
“We’re excited to socialise with everyone and have a good time on the dance floor,” says Shai-A.
DJ Fizz adds: “Our sets usually consist of crispy beats which creates a good vibe on the dance floor. People will definitely enjoy our song selection and feed off of our energy.”
Self-taught sensation, SJ Sophia (8), is the youngest on the line-up. She is looking forward to dazzling the crowd with her skills.
“I just love DJing and love being on stage. You can expect me to bring loads of fun and entertainment to my set. What makes me happy is getting people to dance to my music and seeing them being entertained,” she says.
For DJ Kingphunk, he hopes to bring “a different vibe” to the event.
“I am bringing my own personal mashups on mixes and can’t wait to perform on stage. I am also looking forward to meeting new DJs and influences, and seeing happy people on the dance floor.”
According to Lyle Ryan Irwin, CEO of LRI Productions CEO, the event will celebrate Human Rights Month in SA as well as giving people a reason to “come out and party, and enjoy themselves responsibly”.
“I feel we all need a dose of fun in our lives again and what a better way to be socializing amongst people in a setting where music can bring us together, on the dance floor – like old times,” says Irwin.
Irwin adds that this event will focus on stellar club hits and great dance tunes. It will also allow his company to partner with other entrepreneurs too, to make the experience an overall success for those in attendance.
“We will host food trucks outside the venue on the day, as well as partner with a number of brands from a beverage perspective to create a real club-like atmosphere. We want people to really have a fun time, because we all need a reason to smile in the current pandemic.”
Irwin also assures that strict COVID-19 protocols will be in place on the day.
“We want everyone in attendance to enjoy themselves on the day, so rest assured that all of our events ensure a high standard of quality music as well as safety for all in attendance.”
