Taking up the Challenge
FUTURELIFE® takes smart nutrition to Immunity Island.

Immunity is the body’s ability to resist harmful bacteria and viruses but for the competitors on Survivor South Africa, it’s a sought-after treasure. So, whether you’re bolstering your immune system through nutrition to battle winter bugs or using it to outwit, outplay and outlast fellow contestants, immunity is what keeps you at the top of your game.

It comes as no surprise then that FUTURELIFE®, South African nutrition Brand, has chosen to be a first-time sponsor of Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island. And, according to Mark Bunn, Managing Director of FUTURELIFE®, immunity is not the only connection between the two brands, “The much-loved game of Survivor requires immense mental and physical strength as the contestants go up against the elements and one another, the very things that FUTURELIFE® is known to offer.”

The anticipation for the new season is building and it has promised that Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island is going to be better than ever. The 20 castaways have been battling it out at an isolated destination on the Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast and while the filming has been shrouded in the utmost secrecy, it has been reported that it’s the most cut-throat, ambitious and engrossing season yet.

For those left speculating, Mark reveals that contestants won’t be given ‘free’ access to FUTURELIFE® smart nutrition, “Food is always scarce on Survivor as the contestants have to scavenge off the land. The little nutrition they do receive is usually as a reward for winning a challenge and it promises to be no different this season,” he says.

He does add that good health is key to being the last Survivor and the great nutrition that FUTURELIFE® provides will definitely go a long way to changing the stakes.

Mark says that Survivor’s unique format is unlike anything else on TV and the FUTURELIFE® team has been impressed with the production team’s ability to provide engaging creative product integration and partnership opportunities.

“The series has a strong track record for delivering brand awareness that connects at an emotional level with viewers and this will help position FUTURELIFE® for even greater penetration in the South African marketplace. More importantly, the show has provided a platform that will show the audience just what our smart nutrition is capable of,” says Mark. “We are really excited to be part of this opportunity as Survivor South Africa is an ideal vehicle for our brand.”

Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island will premiere on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on Thursday, 3 June at 19:30.
