She Leads Africa to host SLAY Festival in Johannesburg – 7 March 2020

Johannesburg, South Africa – 18 February 2020 – Digital media company She Leads Africa, in partnership with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), has announced that the popular innovation and culture event SLAY Festival, will be coming to South Africa for the first time on 7 March 2020 at 1 Fox in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Lead partner, the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) is co-organising this event under its flagship project “100,000 SME’s by 2021” which is in line with the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson’s “1 million by 2021 Initiative”, it aims to provide concrete opportunities for 1 million youth by the year 2021.

Since launching in 2017, more than 5,000 women have come together to learn new skills, build their network and connect with their favourite brands at the fun and relaxed festival.

The 2020 edition in Johannesburg will feature inspirational speakers, engaging brand activations, career and business mentorship, networking and shopping from exciting young entrepreneurs.

Some of the festival experiences include:

  • Mainstage: Attendees will learn directly from some of Africa’s leading innovators, leaders and creatives including Mrs Fati N’zi-Hassane, AUDA-NEPAD Head of Human Capital and Institutions Development; Mogau Sesheone, Celebrity Chef and Founder of The Lazy Makoti; Ayanda Thabethe, Actress and Entrepreneur; Rabana Rapelang, Technology Entrepreneur and Founder of Rekindle Learning; Dr. Nokukhanya Khanyile, Doctor and Mental Health Advocate; Rabia Ghoor, Founder of SwiitchBeauty and many more. The panel sessions will focus on thriving as a career professional in corporate SA, building a global business, and gaining financial independence.
  • Masterclasses: During the SLAY Festival Masterclasses, attendees will be able to join small group classes on the hottest topics in lifestyle and career such as Building A Digital Business and Going From Broke To Pre-Rich.
  • Marketplace: The SLAY Festival Marketplace has been curated with leading entrepreneurs from the She Leads Africa community ready to showcase and retail their products in diverse industries.
  • Mogul Talk: These small group discussions at SLAY Festival will enable attendees to get direct coaching on acing a job interview, building generational wealth, marketing for millennials, and work-life balance.
