Southern Sun has been the hospitality partner of the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards (“MAIWSA”) since 2018 and is delighted to be the host of their exclusive wine tasting events as part of the lead up to the 2023 MAIWSA awards. Following the first of two renowned wine tasting events which took place at Southern Sun Rosebank in April, the second event takes place in Durban this Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May 2023 at Garden Court uMhlanga. The event are offers wine lovers the unmissable opportunity of sampling a selection of award-winning wines and meeting the winemakers who produced them.

Wine lovers can expect to taste wines from a comprehensive selection of South African premium brands, including:

These renowned cellars will exhibit not only their award-winning produce, but also their extended ranges, including numerous wines, spirits, MCC and other sublime creations.

Mynard Slabbert, co-owner of MWAISA explains, “These intimate Wine Tasting Events showcase a selection of the 2022 Michelangelo winners who were announced at a gala awards evening hosted at Southern Sun Cape Sun in September 2022. They bring the wines, winemakers and producers to Johannesburg and Durban, giving local wine lovers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, and merchants an opportunity to engage with them, and sample their outstanding products first-hand.”
