A BRUSH & BRUNCH EXPERIENCE FOR BETTER EMOTIONAL BEINGS!

A BRUSH & BRUNCH EXPERIENCE FOR BETTER EMOTIONAL BEINGS!
Thabie Ngethe

It has been a very long two years for our fellow South Africans, especially those who reside in KwaZulu Natal from lockdowns, floods and riots!

We took quite a “beating”, however, our resilience together with the spirit of uBuntu we still come out stronger together.

With all this being said, the month of October has been declared Mental Health Awareness Month with the objective of not only educating the public about mental health but also to reduce the stigma and discrimination that people with mental illness are often subjected to.

The Pavilion Shopping Centre amongst many of the various initiatives that they support, have always believed in the movement of #supportlocal & #PavCares.  Mental Health is one that is not often discussed in our personal or work lives, and yet mental health disorders affect many of us and members of our families.

So, to lighten the soul, The Pavilion team brings their shoppers an afternoon filled with good music, great food, and a creative space at their Brush & Brunch initiative taking place in the roof top Social Gallery on Saturday, October 1 from 11am onwards.

Brush & Brunch has become the fastest-growing brunching experience in the world! Where else can you create like “Picasso” while enjoying your welcome drink and paint like “Michelangelo” while tucking into your tapas?

For just R350 per person, you receive a welcome drink, a choice of tapas courtesy of kruzkoffees, use of brushes and paints and even get to take your canvas home when you leave. So, all one has to do is bring yourself, your imagination and an empty tummy.

Julie-anne Zuma, the Pavilion Marketing Manager, “We felt that painting promotes creative growth, enhances one’s motor skills, it encourages positivity and stress relief amongst other methods, and as October is mental awareness month, we wanted to relieve some stress for our customers in a fun & relaxed environment amongst family & friends.”

She goes on to say, “If this event can alleviate any form of stress or anxiety, even if it is just for a couple of hours for some people, then we have achieved the objective.”

So come, escape with your paint brush and you will no doubt be pleasantly surprised by the talent buried within and feed your creativity!

There will also be a live performance by Thabie Ngethe to round off the afternoon! Tickets can be purchased online at www.quicket.co.za/events/187403-brush-brunch-at-the-pavilion-shopping-centre-durban or go to https://bit.ly/3RQZjrc

Remember, at this event, let’s reduce your stress and increase your self-esteem and self-discovery in art form!
