Community fundraising platform MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is ‘giving for giving’ this January with a R200 000 ‘Back2School’ campaign that will see 20 supporters each winning R10 000 towards their children’s school fees – just by shopping for schoolwear at Woolworths.
The smiling faces of the Back2School campaign belong to learners from Christel House, one of the thousands of schools that benefit from supporters’ MySchool card swipes each month. Christel House is a local, non-profit school based in Ottery, Cape Town and provides free, top-quality education to over 750 children from under-resourced communities on the Cape Flats, where gang warfare, abject poverty, violence and other social hazards are a way of life. Through improved access to high-quality early education, Christel House learners have the chance to dream of a brighter future.
To enter the Back2School competition, supporters simply need to spend R500 on schoolwear at their nearest Woolworths store – and swipe their MySchool cards or linked Woolworths cards as they always do, to continue supporting over 7 500 charities at no cost to themselves – before 31 January. 20 winners will be chosen randomly and will get a huge financial boost to help further their children’s education. Woolworths will also continue to donate a percentage of each supporter’s spend to their nominated school or beneficiary.

With no registration to enter the competition, all any shopper needs to do to enter is swipe a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card or a linked Woolworths card for a qualifying purchase. Sign up for a card online or via the app (Google Play or Apple App Store), where you can also link your Woolworths card to give back – at no charge – with every swipe, and stand a chance to win while doing great things for deserving causes.
