Non-Profit organisation, Citizen Leader Lab, is delighted to announce that its school leadership programme, Partners for Possibility, has been recognised as one of the top 100 educational innovations worldwide. This prestigious acknowledgment was conferred by HundrED, a global organisation that identifies and celebrates inspiring innovations in primary and secondary education.

After careful evaluation by a panel of 183 experts, Citizen Leader Lab’s school leadership programme was selected from over 3,000 applicants to be featured in the 2024 HundrED Global Collection Report. The programme has been acknowledged for its contribution to education through its impactful and scalable leadership development model. This model specifically enhances the leadership skills of public school principals by equipping them to address the complex challenges that these schools commonly encounter.

Citizen Leader Lab’s CEO, Komala Pillay, said: ‘’This recognition really underscores Citizen Leader Lab’s commitment to cultivating leadership that makes a positive difference in education and builds a better future for all people. At a time where South Africa’s education system demands innovative, collaborative solutions from both the public and private sectors, Citizen Leader Lab’s school leadership programme stands as a bridge between these sectors. By pairing public school principals with business leaders from the private sector on a transformative 12-month leadership journey, our programme addresses the many challenges faced by our public schools. Our objective is to create an educational environment conducive to teaching and learning, all while strengthening the vital bonds between schools and their local communities. We look forward to continuing our essential work with school leaders.”

The top 100 innovations were announced via a live stream of the Global Collection 2024 Award Ceremony and will be celebrated at the HundrED Summit in November. The Global Report will also be made available to a global network of leading education stakeholders.

Since its inception in 2016, HundrED has highlighted the importance of innovation in education, recognising innovators who are committed to improving the lives of learners, teachers and the broader education community. Now in its 7th Collection, HundrED facilitates the spread and adaptation of pedagogically sound and ambitious education innovations across the globe.
