Cape Town, 30 October 2024 – The Prescient Foundation in collaboration with Call 2 Care, recently visited Emmanuel Educare, an Early Childhood Development Centre located in Westlake, Cape Town. Twenty-four Prescient staff members spent the day painting and transforming four classrooms with child-friendly themes, while also preparing sandwiches for all 180 learners.
Making a Lasting Impact
The day was filled with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to making a tangible difference. Prescient staff members brought their creativity to life by painting the Busy Bee, Butterfly, Beetle, and Lady Bug classrooms. The bright, engaging designs created an inspiring and joyful environment for the young learners. The initiative also provided a meal-preparation session, with volunteers making healthy sandwiches, ensuring the students received nourishing meals to support their growth and learning.
Nicole Wentzel, Executive Director and CEO of the Prescient Foundation, expressed her pride in the team’s efforts:
“This initiative is representative of what the Prescient Foundation stands for—enhancing lives and communities for a sustainable future. We believe that education is key to shaping a brighter future, and by transforming these classrooms, we’ve helped to create a more engaging space for children to learn and thrive. Our team’s dedication is testament to our staff’s commitment to meaningfully contributing to a better tomorrow and highlights the impact that collective efforts can achieve.”
Empowering Through Education
Emmanuel Educare accommodates 180 learners across six classrooms and is recognised for its high-quality education and effective feeding programme. As part of the revamp, the staff’s efforts were focused on ensuring that these young minds can enjoy their learning journey in a vibrant and stimulating environment. Each classroom was thoughtfully designed to capture the imagination of the children and encourage curiosity and creativity.
Monique Smit, Principal of Emmanuel Educare, was overwhelmed with gratitude for the support:
“The classrooms have been completely transformed, and the children’s faces lit up when they saw the new designs. These small acts of kindness make a big difference in their daily lives, and we’re incredibly thankful to Prescient for their support.”
Reflecting on the Power of Community
Prescient Foundation’s involvement in this initiative is a reflection of its ongoing commitment to building thriving communities and shaping future leaders.
“At Prescient, we understand that success is about more than business—it’s about making meaningful, long-term investments in our communities. By supporting Emmanuel Educare, we’re investing in the future of our youth, one classroom and one meal at a time,” added Wentzel.
