FundiConnect collaborates with leading professional career services

FundiConnect has partnered with leading professional career services—Level Up Assessments and Online Career Guidance—to provide comprehensive career guidance to South African students.

The online student platform is on a mission to help students in South Africa receive all the information they need to make the right career choice from the start.

“When it comes to facing their future career paths, students often struggle to make the right decision. Many chop and change subjects in the hopes of finding something better, or that they’ll be more passionate about,” says James Kieser, Product Owner at FundiConnect.

“With these new partnerships, we hope to close that gap by giving them the opportunity to get the career guidance they need from the word go.”

In line with helping students get a head start in life comes FundiConnect’s partnership with Online Career Guidance. At its core, the professional service strives to ensure that learners and students “follow a career path that is best suited to their particular career orientation.”

In achieving this goal, the platform offers students a detailed online assessment that takes roughly 35 minutes to complete. Upon completion, a comprehensive report outlining suitable career options and tertiary qualifications is generated and sent to the participant via email.

The process for Level Up Assessments differs slightly, as students are required to have a get-to-know-you interview before completing the assessment. However, everything is done entirely online and can be scheduled at the hands of the student.

“The fact that Level Up Assessments conducts its guidance sessions online makes it easier for those who do not wish to have ongoing guidance sessions face-to-face. Our partnership with this all-inclusive service forms part of our strategy to give students career guidance from multiple touchpoints,” Kieser adds.

With the two partnerships, FundiConnect is now able to expose students to professional career services. These offerings cover everything from guidance, one-on-one sessions, and assessments to insightful reports that will put them on the right career paths.

“Both Online Career Guidance and Level Up Assessments have adapted a digital approach, which is great for students who need that sense of privacy when making a personal decision that could be detrimental to their career. With these new partnerships, we’re hoping to give students the freedom of convenience and choice,” says Kieser.

Along with convenience, the new partnerships will give students the added benefit of receiving a 15% discount for both services.

In terms of the value Level Up Assessments has to offer, the HPCSA accredited company gives students all the benefits of career aptitude as well as psychometric testing.

“The use of psychometric assessments in the career decision-making process is like using a GPS while driving. Sure, you could get there by following the signs along the way. However, by understanding your own personality, interests, cognitive ability, and values, you can reach your destination without taking unnecessary detours.” This is according to Level Up Assessments’ Jodi Sonderup and Ronel van Rooyen.

With this service’s psychometric approach, students can expect to receive results that are personalised and relevant to their career paths and subject combinations.

“We’re incredibly excited about the value these new partnerships will bring to both FundiConnect and students alike,” concludes Kieser.
