FBS, a leading global broker, continues its community development journey, fulfilling another charity initiative in South Africa with its ongoing partner, Education Africa. FBS sent a monetary donation to enhance school facilities at Masibambane College in Orange Farm, Johannesburg.

As part of the new initiative, FBS has funded the restoration work of the school clock, bringing back an essential symbol of Masibambane College to its original place. The reinstated clock serves not only as a symbol but also as a practical tool, aiding students in navigating their daily schedules and fostering a culture of punctuality and productivity.

Diego Lima, FBS’s Business Development Manager in Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s impact, stating, “At FBS, we believe in investing in the future, and our collaboration with Education Africa to improve Masibambane College aligns perfectly with our values. By funding the school’s clock tower restoration, we aim to empower students with the tools they need to succeed in their educational journey.”

In the first weeks of March, Education Africa members and Masibambane students and teachers organized an opening ceremony for the new school clock to celebrate the positive improvements at their school. As a gesture of appreciation for the financial support, both institutions agreed to name the new clock tower after FBS – it is now “The FBS Clock”.

“The partnership between FBS and Education Africa marks a transformative moment for Masibambane College and our community in Orange Farm. In the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – The time for action is now. It’s never too late to do something. The newly repaired clock sponsored by FBS will be a timely reminder to the students for them to always give it their best each second of each day. We thank FBS for this gesture and may our teachers and students ensure that no time is lost in striving for their goals.” Masibambane College Executive Head David Jennings commented on the recent improvements.

Oratile, a Grade 10 learner at Masibambane College, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the crucial role of the FBS Clock in daily school routines, “The FBS Clock has significant value to all of us. I think this is a new start for all of us. It is going to encourage us to come to school early because before, we didn’t have a clock to look at on our way to school.”

The collaboration reflects a significant step forward in enhancing the infrastructure of Masibambane College. With their initiatives, FBS and Education Africa continue their cooperation and remain dedicated to fostering continued growth and bringing hope to the Orange Farm community.
