Back-to-school season creates a rush of excitement for the new year. It’s back to waking up early, packing lunches, and getting homework done. SOS Children’s Villages would like to wish all pupils the best of luck in their academic year.
SOS Children’s Villages is an independent, non-governmental organisation that advocates for the rights of South Africa’s most marginalised children. One of these rights is a right to quality education. Our #YesChild campaign advocates for support in education, resulting from listening to children. They appealed for education support that included subject choice and career pathing, as well as more information about institutions for skills training.
One of our missions is to help the children in our care access decent education and personal growth opportunities, thus enabling us to realise our vision – to see children living independent lives and being contributing members of their communities.
