Hereford, England based water poverty alleviation charity Hope Spring, today announced some of its fundraising plans for the Christmas holiday period. The charity specialises in building water wells and boreholes for communities in dire need of clean water in West Africa.  The NGO depends entirely on money raised from its donors in England to carry out its clean water projects in Africa.

According to the charity founder Mr Temi Odurinde “donors are at their most generous during the Christmas period”.  He added “we try to catch the attention of our existing and potential donors during this period”.  This is the only time of the year the organisation attracts corporate donors, who tend to donate through Hope Spring corporate charity christmas eCard project.

Another way Hope Spring uses to attract and encourage more donations is via Hope Spring eCards, this social enterprise allows people to send eCards for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries for a donation.  The Christmas eCard section of the platform tends to attract considerable donations over the Christmas and new year period.  The eCard platform manager Seun Olonade said “our ecard platform has been the cornerstone of our fundraising this year. We hope more people will discover it and use it to send  christmas and birthday greetings”. She added that “donation to Hope Springecards serves the dual purpose of helping raise water for poverty alleviation, it is also more environmentally friendly than paper cards”.

Hope Spring has so far completed ten clean water projects in Nigeria and Sierra Leone this year.   They hope a successful fundraiser during the Christmas period will help the organisation carry the momentum into 2024.  You can find more information about Hope Spring, including the clean water projects they completed this year on their website.  They are also on all major social media platforms.
