SOS Children’s Villages to benefit from bookings at Radisson Hotel Group

Radisson Hotel Group is raising funds from their hotels in Cape Town on behalf of SOS Children’s Village South Africa (SOSSA).

For every booking made from 1 February – 31 March 2020, for a stay between 24 February – 31 March 2020, Radisson Hotel group will donate R5 for every room per night to SOS Children’s Village. The funds raised will go towards a much needed learning and development centre for the children at SOS.

“We are delighted with this partnership with Radisson Hotel Group, through which we join forces to empower children and strengthen communities from the ground up,” says Mandy Spies, Corporate Fundraiser at SOS Children’s Villages South Africa.

“Responsible Business is at the heart of our company’s promise of making every moment matter, which also means that we support and help advance the communities in which we operate,” says William McIntyre, Regional Director, Africa, Radisson Hotel Group. “We are proud of our global partnership with SOS Children’s Village and are constantly seeking ways to help provide a home and better future for the most vulnerable children in the world. It is a real success when our guests support us in this drive to truly making a positive difference.”

SOS Children’s Villages South Africa is a child-focused organisation, looking after children who have lost or are at risk of losing the care of their parents and of their immediate families. Currently SOSSA provides over 5000 children and youth with care in eight villages across the country. This care model includes the provision of a mother (each child has a caring parent), brothers and sisters (the family ties grow naturally), a house (a secure place to grow up in) and a village (the SOS family is part of the community). The goal to care for and protect all children in its care. Psychological, behavioural, psycho-social and other therapies are provided to these children who very often come from difficult backgrounds.

“Supporters such as the Radisson Hotel Group play an important role in supporting our work for children and families in vulnerable circumstances. Our partnership with Radisson Hotel Group, launched in April 2018, focuses on the shared theme of hospitality, as aligned with SOS Children’s Villages’ mission and the Hotel Group’s mission to provide food, shelter and better futures to children,” concludes Mandy Spies.
